Bartending in Delaware
Alcohol server training is regulated by the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement (DATE). Delaware requires all people who sell or serve alcohol, supervisors and licensees to complete a mandatory server training course. Servers must complete a bartending course within thirty days of employment. An ID card, ABC Card, is issued upon completion of the course and must be presented on request by an ATE agent or employer; otherwise, the employee will be cited for a violation.
