How Much Will it Cost Me?

Our bartending course is offered at a very reasonable $69.00 - a price which we are able to maintain because although we have a support team to pay for, we do not required a bricks-and-mortar classroom and all the costs such as insurance that would accompany that. This means that for the same 40 hours of tuition that you would receive offline, our online course can save you hundreds of dollars! It just makes sense to choose an online bartending course as you get so much more value for money!

Why do I need a Bartending Course? I can Pour Beer!

What is the point in a bartending course - surely anyone can pour beer into a glass? Even to do just that properly takes practice. In the real world of bartending, you can add to that the other five customers who are waiting for their drinks and who already know their position in line. Then start to calculate the cost of the current customers’ tab while you remain sociable and remain in eye contact with those waiting. Suddenly pouring a beer is more than just correct placement of an empty glass beneath a beer tap and pressing the on-off button. It is a balancing act of social and professional skills and the better you are at bartending, the more you can earn. Completing a bartending course will mean that you are trained to cope with earning good money at a busy bar.

Who Can Take our Online Bartending Course?

Anyone can take our online course; whether you are just of age (see age requirements for working bartenders below) or already in the trade and want to secure a better job. Lessons are structured toward the final exam that must be passed at the end of the course for certification. Interim tests help you to periodically check that you are making the grade and can be taken repeatedly if necessary until a section of the course is learned fully.

Will it be Worth the Effort – Isn’t Bartending a “Second” Job?

Becoming a bartender can pay well enough for it to be a full time position to replace that job that you neither like nor are paid well enough for. The reason many see it as a chance at a second job is because those working in bars commonly work outside the hours that normal people work so it can be a way to add dollars to an otherwise meager paycheck; most bartenders however hold the bartenders position as the primary wage that they earn. Busy bartenders probably wouldn’t have the energy to maintain another job after a busy night and a late bedtime. So if you are happy to make a job of it, bartending can pay pretty well – without training though you probably won’t get far and few bars are willing to invest much training time other than in showing you how the beer pumps work!

What will my Bartending Certification Course Include?

For any bartending course to be useful it must cover every aspect of bartending so that the student learns all the requisite skills to enable them to feel comfortable immediately in a bartending position and to be able to hold onto it and make a career of it. This has the added benefit that employers hiring you will feel less need to invest in training for you and are more likely to consider you for front line bartending work rather than start you out as re-stocker of back-bar worker.

There are a number of aspects to bartending that require training and practice - all of which you can get with our certified bartenders training courses.

What Jobs can I Expect if I Train in Bartending Online?

Training as a bartender means you are already one step ahead of the competition when it comes to getting a bartending job. Without any qualifications or training, you cannot expect to get much better than a back-bar job stocking the shelves. With some training under your belt you will be able to apply for much better bartending work and be able to demonstrate your skills at an interview.

Unless you dream of serving in a lower class of bar and think you can do without bartending instruction, your bartending position will include having to keep track of numerous customers and their tabs, being knowledgeable about the beverages they already bought (and might want again) and if you want to be a popular bartender, have the social skills to make them feel welcome and valued as a customer into the bargain.

To be a successful bartender you need to fully understand these processes and assimilate the skills to function effectively in this role. From opening up and stocking the bar to closing down and cashing up; in between there are a thousand and one other things to attend to. The less training you get on-the-job, the fewer mistakes you will make and the faster your bartending career will progress.
